This guide is for people on 3.55 CFW
This will allow to keep your trophies if you want to upgrade your HDD or get another PS3 (on 3.55)

I used the Backup Data Utility in the xmb to backup my game saves and account.
It doesn't backup & restore trophies, however.
Follow these steps to backup and restore your trophies without updating to 3.60 and signing in to PSN.

Follow these steps to backup and restore your trophies without updating to 3.60 and signing in to PSN.
The instructions below are for people with 2 PS3's (on 3.55 CFW)
You must already have your account & gamesaves restored on your other PS3 using the Backup Data Utility.
- Start Blackbox v1.2, then start your PC's ftp server.
- Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/
- Copy the trophy folder inside to your PC
- Turn off your PS3, then turn on & start Blackbox on your OTHER PS3 and the ftp server on your PC.
- Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/ again and overwrite the trophy folder with the one you backed up to your PC
- Turn off the ps3. Turn it back on, but instead of booting it normally, go to the Recovery Menu.
- Select Rebuild Database, then the ps3 will reboot afterwards.
- Check out your Trophy Collection and all of your trophies will be there!
The instructions below are for people upgrading to a bigger HDD
You need to have your account & gamesaves backed up to an External HDD using the Backup Data Utility.
- Start Blackbox v1.2, then start your PC's ftp server.
- Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/
- Copy the trophy folder to your PC
- Turn off your PS3, and hit the switch in the back (fat ps3's only) then unplug all the cables.
- Take out your current HDD and put in the NEW HDD you want to use and reformat it when prompted.
- When finished, go to the Backup Data Utility, and then restore your backup data.
- After it finishes and reboots, install Blackbox v1.2 and start it, and the pc's ftp server.
- Go to /dev_hdd0/home/your user id/ and overwrite the trophy folder with the one you backed up to your PC
- Turn off the ps3. Turn it back on, but instead of booting it normally, go to the Recovery Menu.
- Select Rebuild Database, then the ps3 will reboot again.
- Check out your Trophy Collection and all of your trophies will be there!
